Hi, I'm David Mata — Senior SRE based in Costa Rica.

I've spent the last 10+ years working on the kind of infrastructure problems that don't have clean answers: on-call at 2am, cascading failures, migrations that go sideways, and automation that creates more toil than it removes.

This blog is where I write about what I actually learn — not polished tutorials, but honest accounts of how things break, why they break, and how to build systems that fail less often and recover faster.
